The baby’s mother, Monique Rupell, got up but was only able to take a few steps due to vertigo. She had to return to the bed. Her husband felt it as well. He did not feel well as he moved around the house and decided it was time to leave the home.

When Monique picked up her baby, the baby vomited, and then she realized her cat was unconscious on the floor.

Their home was full of carbon monoxide.

They were fortunate, but not everyone survives when their home fills up with carbon monoxide.

Do you have a carbon monoxide detector in your home? If you do not, your life could be in danger.

Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless, tasteless gas that is produced when certain types of fuel is burned. If there is not proper ventilation around the burning fuel, then the carbon monoxide levels can build up to dangerous levels. Breathing in too much carbon monoxide can be fatal, if no fresh air is introduced.

In order to avoid this dangerous situation and keep your home as safe as possible for you and for your family, install carbon monoxide detectors in your home. You will need one on every level, as well as one in the garage.
