TUXEDO Touch™ by Honeywell: BRING YOUR HOME TO LIFE

Talk about convenience! You’ll know how to use the Tuxedo Touch controller the first time you see it. It’s intuitive, easy to learn and easy to use whether you’re controlling your security and home control functions, viewing and recording video, or using voice commands.

GIVE YOUR HOME A VOICE HANDS-FREE HOME CONTROL

Tuxedo Touch Voice Control

Simply say "Hello Tuxedo" to bring your home to life. The convenient, built-in voice commands can be configured to suit your lifestyle and needs. Your mornings can run more smoothly by saying "Wake Up" and having your shades raise and the heat turned up to the perfect temperature. Ready to turn in for the night? Just say "Bedtime" to arm your security system, turn off your lights, lock your doors and set back your thermostats. Say hello to convenience and peace of mind!

At ISC West 2014, Honeywell’s Tuxedo Touch with Voice Control is demonstrated.  Let’s listen in:

The beauty of a connected home is that it allows you to control a variety of devices, based upon your particular needs.  You can do this based upon time, or you can do this based upon an action that you want to have in your home.

Typically, you would do this using the touch screen or a mobile device – to control all these actions.  But with our new release of software, you can use your voice to do these same, exact actions.

So let’s say at night, you want to go to sleep and shut your lights, lock your front door, put down your shade and set back your thermostat:  you would just give a command, and all these things would happen! It’s really simple; it’s all part of the Honeywell user experience.

Let me show you:

“Hello Tuxedo!”

“Hello!  Please say your command.”

“Bedtime.”

“Processing bedtime command.”

And all of those things happened in one, easy command.

While it is important to have fire extinguishers in your office and home, if you do not know how to use one properly, it will be of little use to you when a fire breaks out.

Fema Life Safety explains how to safely and effectively use a fire extinguisher in their helpful demonstration.

Here are some highlights from their demonstration:

Understand that fire extinguishers are for controlling small fires before they are able to spread.

Before using a fire extinguisher, check the fire class information on the label to ensure you are using the proper extinguisher for the fire:

The common types of fire include:

Class A:  Common combustibles
Class B:  Flammable liquids
Class C:  Equipment that is plugged in
Class D:  Cooking oils and grease

Fema Common types of fires

After you have determined that you have the correct extinguisher for the class of fire you are faced with, Fema then recommends using the PASS technique to activate the extinguisher and put out the fire.

  1. P = Pull the Pin:  Hold the extinguisher upright and pull the pin:

  2. A = Aim the Nozzle. Stand 8 – 10 feet from the fire and aim the nozzle at the base of the fire.  Do not get too close or aim the nozzle too high.
    Fema Aim the nozzle
  3. S = Squeeze the levers:  Once the nozzle is aimed at the base of the fire, squeeze the levers together to begin discharging the fire extinguishing agent.
    Fema Squeeze the levers
  4. S = Sweep from side-to-side:  Maintain your distance from the fire and sweep the nozzle from side to side, sweeping three to six inches beyond the right and left edges of the fire.  Discharge the extinguisher until contents are exhausted to prevent re-ignition.  Move around the fire to confirm it is completely extinguished.
